Isn’t this an amazing picture? When I think of summer, I think of being at the beach and listening to the waves rush in, feeling the breeze and the lovely smell. Then seemingly endless BBQs, roasting marshmallows, eating outside…either picnics or on the deck. Beautiful sunsets and live music also come to mind. Being free from coats and long sleeve shirts and wearing flip flops all the time.
Ahhhh…summer time…one of my favorite times of year. Top it off with an icy cold drink and I’m happy.
Happy Earth Day everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful day of appreciating our planet.
I thought I would share with you a way I recycle everyday with my couponing. I really hate to waste anything and like to make sure things get put into their recycling bins (my husband would testify to that! ).
When I print coupons from the Internet, there always seems to be BIG white areas (especially when you print ONE!) and lots of scraps. Since I’m the recycle queen in my house, I found a way to be most efficient with my printouts.
The first thing I did was placed a special box close to my desk to put my scrap paper in. I know…nothing fancy…but it works for me. There are definitely much nicer options.
Now, I’ve figured a way to print TWO single coupons on one sheet of paper by printing and turning it so it will print like the picture. It just seems so wasteful to print ONE coupon per sheet of paper. Be sure to run a few practice rounds on your printer before you do it with coupons you actually want!
Now I take this paper and cut it through the middle as shown on the left. This leaves me with wonderful strips of paper that I use for shopping lists or writing any ideas I may have down. I love these! Then I trim off the excess around the coupon and put these in a separate bag or box. Guess what I use these for?! Art projects! Yes…you can blend them up to make homemade paper for cards or scrapbooking OR for even messier fun…paper mache! What can I say…I’m an artist and I love doing fun crafty projects.
Now when I have no choice on the single coupon print, I will put the large pieces in my scrap paper box and either cut them into shopping lists OR my girls get to use them for coloring and drawing on.
It’s a win, win! I love it! You can have Earth Day everyday when you coupon!
Do you have anything you would like to share on how you reuse and recycle?
